Sandburg Men’s Soccer No. 20 in NJCAA Preseason Rankings

The Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team has already accomplished a first before taking the pitch this season.
The Chargers were 20th in the NJCAA Division II preseason rankings that were released Monday, marking the first time the program has been nationally ranked to start a season. Sandburg, coming off a 5-1-1 campaign last spring in which it reached the Region IV semifinals, begins its fall schedule at 3 p.m. Aug. 24 at Scott (Iowa).
The Chargers made their first-ever appearance in the national rankings May 17 when they were No. 19 following an unbeaten regular season. Sandburg finished 20th in the postseason poll last spring.
